This is my alternate ending to Romeo and Juliet. It starts where Romeo goes to kill himself in Juliets tomb. (that might not have helped you at all but ok)

Act V Scene III

-- Romeo enters the cemetery --

Romeo: My love is dead and I cannot live on. My body shall lay by her side forever and I shall join her in heaven.

Friar: Romeo! Your lady shall awake in a short time.

Romeo: Wake up? Your words are that of a fool. She is dead! She will never wake!

Friar: No. A vial to draw give her the appearance of death, she drank.

Romeo: Not dead! This tomb shall open before she awakens. Friar I take this crowbar from you. (Romeo opens the tomb) My fairest Juliet, where are you hidden? (Romeo sees her and hurries to her) My Love! My Wife!

Juliet: (as she awakens) My Romeo! It has been too long since I have seen your face.

Romeo: I shall not part from you again. In death I shall still be with you.

Juliet: (rising to her feet) A horrid dream this has been. Here lays Tybalt, my poor cousin. (eyes wander to a ring that is on a chain around Tybalt’s neck) What is this jewel? A ring. Plain, but it carries so much beauty. (takes the ring and holds it in her hand) It draws me towards it. It is telling me to place it on my finger. (places it on her finger, sees an evil eye staring back at her, takes off the ring.)

Romeo: You disappeared! Are you all right my love!

Juliet: An eye! It was staring into my soul. It was drawing me towards it.

Friar: Hurry! You must leave immediately! Flee to Mantua. I shall send word of the happenings here until you may return.

Act V Scene IV

-- On the streets of Verona immediately after. Romeo, Juliet and the Friar are walking covered in cloaks--

Romeo: We shall live in Mantua peacefully as husband and wife.

Watch: You there! Who travels here at this time of night? Speak your name! (walking up to the group)

Friar: It is I Friar Lawrence.

Watch: Who are your companions? What is your business? This is Romeo! You have been banished! You must be punished for this. (calls for prince and much of town meets in the street)

Prince: Romeo! You have banished and have been warned of death if ever return. What say you of this event!

Romeo: I have come to weep my wife’s death. I found her much alive and we were leaving for Mantua. Please Prince. Spare my life. I cannot leave my wife again.
Prince: You have not been married! No wedding was held.

Romeo: We had a secretive wedding. Friar Lawrence can confirm this.

Friar: This is true

Prince: Where is this wife that you speak of?

Juliet: (as she steps forward) I, Juliet, am his wife!

Lord Capulet: This is not my daughter! My daughter has passed and is not with us anymore. This imposter is speaking foolish words of my Juliet; she would never marry a Montague.

Prince: Truly you are not Juliet. Her funeral has already taken place and she is in her tomb. Who is this imposter?

Friar: This is the true Juliet. I gave her a potion that put her to into a deathlike sleep.

Balthasar: (running to the prince) I have a message for the prince! (reading message to prince) The Black Death has killed the entire royal family of Mantua! No soul in Mantua is fit to serve as ruler. A replacement is needed. Send a citizen to rule Mantua.

Prince: This is devastating news. Who shall I send? I cannot send a member of my family for they may become ill with the Black Death. I cannot make this decision on my own. Friar Lawrence, who do you believe to be fair enough to rule Mantua?

Friar: I ca….

Prince: Romeo! As punishment for coming back to Verona, you shall serve as ruler of Mantua. Your wife shall join you. If you do not rule, you shall be beheaded.

Romeo: I would be honored to do this. We shall leave immediately.

Prince: Send word from Mantua. Get the city in order. Be gone!

Act V Scene V

--Years later in Mantua, Romeo and Juliet are still ruling --

Romeo: May I have the ring.

Juliet: No! It is mine. My dearest cousin Tybalt gave it to me.

Romeo: I shall polish it for you. Give it here.

Juliet: It needs no polishing; it has not changed appearance since it was given to me.

Romeo: It has taken control of you Juliet. The ring has corrupted you! (takes the ring from Juliet and throws it into the fire) Why, it is not melting. There is now a design on the ring. What has happened to it? (makes a servant take it from the fire) This is worthless. (gives ring to Juliet)

Juliet: My precious.

Tybalt: (come from beneath the floor as a spirit) Juliet, you have taken my only thing worth anything to me. Give it back to me!

Romeo: Too long you have watched my wife. Too long have you haunted her steps. Be gone! Never return.

Act VI Scene I

-- Three Hundred years later in Mantua --

Juliet: Where is my Romeo? Come hither.

Romeo: (his spirit) I am here! What is it you would like?

Juliet: I have lived so long and I wish to become a spirit to be with you. At dawn I shall be with you. I shall meet you in heaven. I must leave my precious ring behind and I shall devote my life in heaven all to you.

Romeo: The ring must be destroyed! You may never give it up if it is not. Give it up now. Have it sent to be destroyed. That is all I ask before you come.

-- Lights fade to black--
