April Showers Bring May Flowers

March was quite the interesting month and April has started just the same way. Spring break came and went with nothing too interesting going on. I did get a few errands dont and spent some time relaxing. On the 22nd, I went up to Spokane to visit my brother and some of his friends. We stopped at Sonic for dinner and it turns out they acctually sell bagged ice. It is good ice too- doesnt melt too quickly, perfect crunch. I ended up seeing Steph G. from elementry school. She had always seems like a happy girl, but I feel like a lot of her light has left. It makes me sad. I got really drunk and Andrew and my beer pong team didnt end up doing too well and some how I ended up making out with a not hott guy. On the way home, Julie was puking in the front seat, and I had no idea she had even drank at the party. I had to pee so bad, that I peed in a cooler. It was quite hilarious since I was quite inebriated.

The next weekend I was fortune enough to attend a leadership institute at a bible camp in Cusick, WA. I learned that I have an orange personality, which is totally the best. But I met a lot of cool people and I had a ton of fun. They had one of those giant slide, like at an amusement park, and it had been snowing the entire time we were there and before- but it was really slick once they cleared it off so it was a lot of fun. The last time I went up for another run, I sat down too quickly, hit the edge where the slide and stairs meet, and broke my tailbone. Nobody had like any drugs, so it was a very painful rest of the trip.

Last week was greek week. I played volleyball and basketball at the begining of the week, despite my broken tailbone. Our house got fourth in volleyball and first in dodgeball, which was really exciting! We normally dont do well in many sports at all.

I also started my screenplay on the first. I am really excited to finish it.

We had a Screw your Roommate dance on the 5th. It was a lot of fun, but Julie wasnt even going to get me a date in the first place and she went out like 2 hours before and found a guy at Delts who would go. My date that she found ended up having a girlfriend who got pissed that he was going to go, so I was found another date. We went and got thai food and then went bowling before I headed back to his place. Then after I left his place, I went to a party next door and then somehow ended up at Delts chapter house later that night. It was quite a crazy night for a fairly soberish person. lol.

A Blast from the Past

So I started going through some of my old stuff and I cant believe how ridiculously nerdy I was. People I knew always made it seem that I was just a fairly smart girl that was interested in some more academic activities. It turns out I was lying to myself and I was actually like borderline geek. It is amazing how much one can change. Now I am trying to get back to my academic roots because those seem to have failed me over the past year. I think that I am actually in a rut that I have dug myself in far deeper than I had imagined.

I will however, be graduating this summer and be moving on to bigger and better things. As of now, I do not have any tingling feeling of what these bigger and better things may account to, but becoming a nanny almost seems promising. How did I wind up going to school to get my bachelors degree to become a nanny? I think that it all comes down to the fact that I have no drive at the moment. My soul has been sucked out by a few key people and there isn’t much left to push me to do amazing things, or even everyday things, anymore.

I really need to get it together and make a plan. My lack of a plan is digging me deeper into my rut and I am going to be too deep to recover from it if I do not stop now. I need to at least kind of figure out who I am and where I want to go. I am hoping that deep down I am not the person that left grade school or the person I think I might have become recently.

Tomorrow I will create goals and a purpose for my upcoming future.

Coug Day at the Capital

I think it is safe to say that February was over in a flash, yet it seemed to drag on. Throughout the month, I worked on a campaign for the ASWSU president and VP. Leslie, my friend and sorority sister, was running for the VP position and I was there are her ever beckoning call. I think I attended at least a dozen debates that was just a repetition of the previous debate. After sleepless nights and days of endorsing my candidates, the ticket that I was campaigning for got the bad news that they would not be leading the students during the next school year. It was a great experience to be part of an election, even if it was only just for the associated student body.

Also during February, I attended Coug Day at the Capital. Julie and I packed up on a bus, along with another twenty students, and headed over to Olympia. Since sitting on the back of the bus was the cool thing to do, that is where Julie and I staked our territory. We had barely pulled away from the bus stop when drunken individuals started throwing up in buses tiny bathroom. Adam FP was the first to run to the restroom and Brandon S was next a close second, all before we had even gotten out of the town limits.

Not more than 45 minutes later, the bus started slowing down and eventually stopped on the side of the road. It turned out that our transmission had died and it would be a couple of hours. Jello and beer started being passed around the bus. Not more than 45 minutes later, the bus rolled to a stop on the side of the road with a dead transmission. Every passenger trickled off the bus and we all marched to the gas station a couple miles away to get more beer. After taking pictures in the middle of the highway and trudging through a swamp, we finally arrived at the gas station and stocked up on everything we would need. When we returned, it was not long until the next bus would arrive.

After loading our possessions onto the next bus, we christened the bus by toasting to the new bus. It wasn’t long until I was quite intoxicated and giving people nicknames. Brandon became ballcuzzi bandana boy and a kid named Sean got a similar nickname. Apparently, after a while, I had drunk a little too much and was quite crazy. We arrived at the hotel and had to get dressed for dinner. While in the elevator, headed down to the banquet, we met up with Dan Maer- our advisor. Dan is legally blind and commented on my drunken state. I tried to defer the accusations, but he knew very well that I was still quite inebriated.

After our banquet, my parents came to pick me up and take me shopping. I was still quite intoxicated when they arrived and when they dropped me off back at the hotel. It was nice to get the chance to see them. Once I got back, I headed down the hall to a friends room where we played drinking games before heading to the bar. The Urban Onion was a gay bar about half a block away, which made it quite easy for all of us to get there. There were only 3 locals at the bar that night and all of us. A guy I thought was kinda cute was at the bar, but he turned out to be kinda a creeper. He followed me back to my run and then would not leave. Somehow he got in to Julie and my room and he took one of my bras and left.

The next day we toured the capital building, met a few key people, and had some fun. Julie and I went to her house, which was also in Olympia for dinner. That was really fun and her mother is quite the good cook. When we returned, we made mimosas in the hotel room and hung out. On the last day we got to tour the governor’s mansion and then we jumped back on the bus and headed home. I enjoyed some more mimosas on the trip, but Brandon and a couple more people stank up the entire bus. It took us like 10 minutes to find some Lysol so that it smelled a little better. All in all, it was a great trip and I am so glad I signed up for it.

We also had initiation during February. I was really excited because my little sis got initiated and it was really fun. I made her initiation as memorable as I possibly could because I know my big didn’t do anything for mine. I have a new big now though and we have a lot of fun.

That was pretty much the extent of my February. So far March hasn’t been too exciting. I had some midterms and Spring Break started on the 8th. I have just been relaxing so far, but I am going to start doing ridiculously fun things for the rest of the week. I also get to on a leadership retreat which will hopefully be a lot of fun.

Yippie Ki-yay Mother Fucker

January was one wild month. Not necessarily wild in the ways I have become accustomed to, but it was quite exciting.

During the first week of the month, I became a different person with the legal alteration of my last name. I took my step fathers last name and am now “officially” part of his family. I am sure this came to a great shock to my step-grandmother, but she will get over it eventually. When I came back to school, I also pretended I was married. It was a great prank that lasted quite a while. I had a ring, a story, and everything else to make it sound oh so real. It was very successful.

I flew back to school on the seventh, to find my car frozen beyond belief. Later that week I had Ford fix it and I was finally able to drive again. Thankfully, but I cannot drive yet again. We have gotten massive amounts of snow in the last couple of weeks. School was actually closed for the first time due to snow since 1980. That was twenty eight years ago! Ridiculous. Those two days created a four day weekend, which meant four days to party hardy. Pullman has livened up in the past couple of days. I’ve seen 7 foot high igloos, snowboarders being pulled by snow mobiles, and too many drunken sledders to count. A couple of my sisters and I even had to climb up a mountain of snow that was at least two hundred feet high. It was a flight of stairs that had inevitably turned into a giant slide as the snow had fallen. So cheers to snow adventures and the hopes that it will continue to fall in the coming days!

Besides crazy snow, I have also had to deal with a few people who really like me and all have the same name. Crazy, I know. Of course, they are both not even close to what I am looking for, so I have been avoiding them at all costs, which is very hard when you live in a small town. There are a few potentials that I have in mind for Valentines Day though. So, we will see.

During the weekend of the 18th, I went back to Kent to visit and shop. When I arrived home on the 18th, at approximately 7:30, I immediate turned to the freezer and made a drink. I continued to consume beverages while working out on my elliptical and watching the Die Hard series. It was quite the eventful weekend and If you EVER need something to do at night, I highly recommend it.

During this weekend, I also had a boy that I dated three years ago call me out of the blue and tell me that his missed me. I hadnt spoken to this kid since our breif two-week fling that ended in him dissappearing off the face of the earth. So I wasnt quite sure how to take it. I also found out that my other ex works at my local Safeway, which is better of two grocery stores in town. haha.

On my way back to Pullman, I was driving down a icy road and slid into a snow bank. I called a tow truck and while I was waiting, a po-po came and made me sit in the back of his vehicle. The tow truck finally came like an hour later and pulled my car out, un-scathed, but the copper still wrote me a ticket for speeding. Stupid police. I also got frostbite from being in the 4 degree weather, but I am slowly gaining feeling back to my fingers. YAY!

Most excitingly, I am now a big sister in my house. Basically, you receive a little sis when they join and you are their mentor and communicator. It’s definitely something I have been waiting for, so I am super excited.

Other than that, I have been wrapped up in sorority business, having drunken escapades, and actually attempting to keep up with school. Yay for me. I am in a holocaust class that takes up all of my time because its ridiculously hard to stop trying to put in perspective just how many 6 million people is. But I quite enjoy the professor and everything else I am learning. Most of my other classes are all the same, but that’s what you get when you are a rhetoric major.
